Friday night Isaac had an AWFUL episode! I woke up because he was wimpering, as soon as I touched him he took off-- first down into the space between the bed and the wall, when I pulled him out of there I tried to cuddle and comfort him, he screamed bloody murder, got away from me and got down UNDER the bed (he NEVER goes under the bed!) I was afraid he'd hit his head, so I pulled him out from there and he took off running into the living room. He hid in the corner and screamed for awhile, then he threw all the toys in his toy box at me one at a time. He calmed down for a few moments here and there and I'd think it was over and then he'd start screaming again. I know it lasted for AT LEAST 20 minutes (it was 2:40 when I looked at the clock the first time and after 3 when he stopped) If I had never heard of night terrors I would have been really, really freaked, as it was I was freaked enough I wanted another sane and awake adult to talk to and called the my nurse line (tha's how I knew when he was REALLY awake, he said "phone" and tried to take it away from me) her information said that night terrors don't usually start until after 3 and that they usually last less than 20 minutes. This is really not an area I want my kid to be ahead of the curve on! He's had a few episodes of having "tantrums" where I wasn't sure he was really awake, but that's always been after I've carried a sleeping boy up from the car. This was the first time from a sound sleep in our own bed and it was a DOOZIE! I was afraid to fall asleep Saturday, in case he had another one (Friday night he woke me up 20 minutes after I fell asleep, the WORST time to be woken up!) So far no repeats.... Any body have any experience or advice? I don't think we did anything new or different Friday.....
